Baby Basics Liverpool
Welcome to Baby Basics Liverpool: a volunteer-led baby bank supporting infants and parents experiencing hardship.
Working closely with health professionals and other agencies, we provide new and excellent quality preloved items for infants whose families are struggling to cope with the financial and practical challenges of caring for a baby. Items include: Moses baskets filled with essentials, nappies, clothing, toys, toiletries, and equipment like prams & cots.
Our vision is for no infant to be without the essential items and equipment they need to be safe, happy and to thrive.

About Us
In 2015 Baby Basics Liverpool was formed as part of Freedom Church Liverpool when we were made aware of a crisis in provision for vulnerable mums and babies.
We collect donations of new and pre-loved 0-2yr old essential baby items, such as Moses baskets or cots, bedding, baby clothes, nappies, toiletries, books and toys, highchairs, sterilisers, prams and more. These are gifted to local families experiencing hardship, for whom these items are classed as luxuries when faced with choosing between eating, heating their home, or being able to buy items for their baby.
Since 2015, our volunteer team has completed over 2800 referrals and the number of children we support monthly is regularly increasing. In 2024 we supported 668 children, helping to give them a better start in life!

Meet the Team
Baby Basics Liverpool is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable in our city.
Volunteers collect and sort donations, assist with administration, check equipment is safe to use, pack referrals and raise vital funds. We will always respond as quickly as we can to referrals.
Connect
Awarded a National Lottery Community Fund of £20000!
This incredible funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, to cover the period of April ‘25 – March’27, enables us to continue our provision of essential baby equipment to struggling families.
Get Help
We work on a referral basis which means requests for support are made solely by health professionals or organisations.
We primarily support families with children from pre-birth to 2 years of age.
Families
Make a Referral
A referral can be made by any health professional or charity who have identified a family who are struggling to provide the essential equipment for the mother, new baby or existing children. Please download our form below, complete it in full and email it back to us at babybasicsliverpool@gmail.com
We require the referrer or a colleague, (not the client), to collect the items themselves from our unit in The Big Yellow Storage Unit, L13 5TF once it is ready. We will endeavour to provide everything requested but this will depend upon what we have had donated at that time.

Give Help
See latest donation listDonating secondhand items
The majority of what we provide are high quality second hand items and we love to reuse as much as we can to prevent them going to landfill. We are enormously grateful for all donations of items we need.
Each week we update a ‘Weekly Wanted’ list on our Facebook page and Instagram with the items that we are more in need of due to high demand or our stocks running low. Please check this before donating.
We ask that all second hand items that are donated are washed and stain free. If possible, please sort any clothing into sizes, in labelled bags, as this will really help to speed up our processing.
Please note that we cannot accept any items that are broken, missing parts or need excessive cleaning.
