About Us
We take referrals from midwives, health visitors, social workers, domestic abuse advisors, charities and other organisations working with vulnerable mums and families. We aim to provide a safe, reliable service that people can trust.
We are located at 8-10 High Street Billericay, CM12 9BQ. There is a barrier controlled car park behind the building. You can gain access by selecting Baby Basics on the intercom on the right hand side of the barrier.
We are open for donations and collections on Friday mornings between 9.30am and 11am. Please ring the Baby Basics doorbell at the entrance to the stairwell between 8 and 10 High Street Billericay and we will come down and greet you.
Meet the Team
Baby Basics Billericay is run by small team of volunteers who are passionate about making a difference to the most vulnerable families in our community.
We will always respond as quickly as we can to referrals and aim to ensure the items we give out are of good quality and appropriate to the referral made.

Volunteer award
In March 2025, Kate Morris, one of our volunteers, received Highly Commended in the inspirational volunteer award category at Basildon Borough Volunteer Awards.

Our service is only accessed by professional referral.
We will take referrals from the following: midwives, health visitors, social workers, domestic abuse advisors, after care teams, charities, churches and community groups.
We support families with children from pre-birth to 5 years.

If you are a family living in the Essex area and need support with items for your children pre-birth to 5 years old then we can help you.
Please contact any of the following and they will be able to make a referral to us: midwife, health visitor, social worker, domestic abuse advisor, after care team, charity working with you, church or community group you attend.
Make a Referral
To make a referral to us please email the following information to billericaybabybasics@gmail.com
- mum’s/carer’s initials and postcode
- due date of the baby or date of birth of the child being referred
- gender of the baby if known/ gender of the child being referred
- brief description of why you are making the referral
- contact number of the referrer
- what you are requesting (moses basket starter pack, formula starter pack or sibling bags)

Donating secondhand items
The majority of the items we provide have been donated to us from our amazing community.
We will regularly post on Facebook what we are in need of.
Please see above the full list of items that we accept.
We ask that all items donated are in good condition, stain free, freshly washed and sorted into ages and categories please. This really does help to speed up our processing.
Any items donated that we cannot use are passed onto our local children’s centres.
We are open for donations on Friday mornings from 9.30am to 11am.
Donating new items
We accept any unopened stage 1 formula (with more than 3 months expiry), bottles, bottle brushes and sterilising tablets/liquid as well as any brand new clothing newborn to 5 years.
