Penrhiwceiber – Baby Basics

Baby Basics Penrhiwceiber

Our project commenced in November 2019 when Nadine our project administrator became inspired to find a way to help when her health visitor told her of the difficulties of some new mothers in our community who could not provide the basics to care for their families and their new babies. She spoke to our priest about the concern and prayerfully researching possible ways we could help led us to the Baby Basics network and our branch was quickly founded.

Our launch was a joyful event held  in St Winifred’s church. We  showcased the beautiful Moses basket starter packs that we intended would be our goal to provide. Over the years the generosity of individuals who donate  along with those who have financially supported the project has allowed us to developed and grow the service we can provide. We are grateful for the support given to us by the Baby Basics network and for every preloved and new item that we have been able to gift to a new mam

The project in Penrhiwceiber is run by an amazing group of volunteers and in 2021 we were proud to receive the High Sheriff of Glamorgan award for charitable work

To date we have been able to work with health and social care professionals to help 100s of families.
Baby Basics Penrhiwceiber owes a huge thank you to all who have supported us throughout the last six years

Baby Basics Penrhiwceiber would not be the success it is today without the amazing team and volunteers from our church and local community who are the backbone of the project, giving their time to manage referrrals, wash, sort, and prepare donations for families in need and supporting with the donation of preloved items.
Without the commitment and compassion of our volunteers, our work would not be possible.
