Baby Basics Cornwall

Cornwall was launched on 7th June 2021, we work with professionals, charities, schools, Doctors, nurseries to cover Cornwall, we discuss requirements and arrange a collection date and they deliver the packs to the family in need, we have no contact with families and so are a fully confidential service.

Our gifts are a free gift, and we share no literature or faith based information with families, but the heart of our motive for our centre comes very much from our faith and our belief that we should “Love one another”

About Us

We provide clothing, toiletries and equipment for children from birth up to 5 years old and toiletries for mum & dad.

We are all aware of how much harder it is for people to manage now whether it is due to financial worries or circumstances our of our control, we are not here to judge just to help if we can.

Donating secondhand items

We rely on donations and most of what we receive is pre-loved, we believe our packs should be a gift rather than a charity, our volunteers sort to ensure everything is near perfect, clean and presented beautifully. We ask that everything is clean and in working order and any clothes is sorted into sizes.

We are open for donations on Wednesday mornings 10 – 12.30 at Unit A, Trevecca Industrial Estate, Culverwood Road, Liskeard, PL14 6RE  What3words shunning.data.noise or you can drop to our local foodbank which is next to us on Monday and Friday mornings 9-12.30. If you can’t do either of these times please contact us as we have several drop off points in the area.

Agile

Donating equipment

We really appreciate any equipment as long as it is clean and in working order and has all its components ie nuts and bolts.

We will not take used car seats, used bottles, used breast pumps, used nursing pillows baby swings, jumperoos, travel cots, used mattresses, ride on or sit in toys, large toys, handmade stuffed toys.  If you’re not sure please ask. If we do get any of these items or things we can’ t use we give them to our local Lions group who regularly go to Ukraine and they are much appreciated their.

Nothing goes to waste or landfill so we are doing our bit for the environment too.

Bold

Donating new items

Some items we only take new, mattresses, car seats, breast pumps, bottles, toiletries, stair gates.

We love hand knitted items and have regular volunteers who do this for us, it means so much having handmade items as the message it sends is that the child is valued and cared for.

You can donate any items from our Amazon Wishlist https://amzn.eu/57ZJv2P

Donating financially

Regular or one-off

We are a self funded charity and need to pay the rent on our storage unit and to pay BBUK a subscription, we also buy new items as previously mentioned so any monetary donations are gratefully received and much appreciated no matter how small.

If you are interested in giving as a one off or regularly please get in touch for details. Our finances and insurance are managed through Pensilva Church PCC.

We raise money by collecting any age clothes, shoes, bags, no bedding, through www.bag2school.com  they collect from us regularly and pay us by weight.
