Get Help

We work by professional referral only.

We take referrals from any organisation working with families, including midwives, health visitors, local council, housing, charities, churches, schools, and community organisations.

We primarily support families with babies from pre-birth up to 6 months.

Families

Do you live in West Norfolk, have a child pre-birth to 6 months, and need help with items for your family? We can help.

Please talk to your midwife, health visitor, social care professional or a charity or community organisation that is supporting you. They will be able to make a referral to Baby Basics West Norfolk on your behalf. We do not accept self referrals.

If you have not seen your health visitor for a while or do not know how to contact them, contact your GP who will be able to tell you how to get in touch.

Make a Referral

Our turnaround time for referrals can be as quickly as needed, with emergencies taking priority, or 4 weeks before the due date for an unborn baby.

We will give a specific date via email when your request is due for collection.

It must be yourself or someone from your organisation that collects the referral. We do not allow families to collect their own items.

There is no limit to the number of times a family can be referred to us if you assess that they still need support.

If there is anything else that you feel is needed for a specific family, please ask.

We will always endeavour to fulfil your request.

Please email us (babybasicswestnorfolk@gmail.com) with your request stating name, EDD, gender (if known), and what is required. If the referral is for an older baby then please provide their name, age and gender.

Donating secondhand items

90% of what we provide are high quality secondhand items.

Please contact us for a current list of donations needed and check with us before donating, especially when it’s multiple bags of clothing or a large item, as our needs change on a regular basis.

We do not have the storage space required to house unexpected donations.

We ask that all items are freshly washed or cleaned before being donated.
