We are so Excited to Launch our 50th Centre in Portstewart

Portstewart Baptist Church (PBC) on the North Coast  N.Ireland  has a vision that embodies ‘people reaching people’ with the message of hope and light that comes from a personal relationship with Jesus.

We want to see PBC being at the heart of our local community, providing support to families and individuals and currently we do this through a number of initiatives such as running a food bank facility/ baby clubs, mother and toddler clubs and the development of  a small sensory room for children with learning disabilities.

PBC is delighted to be partnering with Baby Basics to serve our local community in this new and exciting way and are looking forward to supporting mums, babies and families in this very practical way.

We have Launched our 50 for 50 Campaign!! Store More to Give More

Baby Basics UK is about to open in Portstewart, Northern Ireland and will be the 11th
centre to open since the start of the Covid -19 Pandemic.

To mark this milestone, we are launching our 50 for 50 fundraising campaign to raise £50,000 in order to open and staff a national warehouse in order to keep up with demand.

Over the last year Baby Basics has seen a 185% increase on referrals across the UK and therefore need to be able to accept and store more donations. Sadly, the lack of warehouse space for us means that donations consistently have to be turned down.

Cat Ross CEO of Baby Basics UK said : “

So many more families have needed us in the last 12 months and this need will continue for many months to come. The provision of a warehouse will enable us to support our Baby Basics Centres across the UK. It is so difficult to turn away donations simply
because we have no space to store them, when we know how much they are desperately needed.”

These donations include those from UK Brands who have continued to support the Charity since the visit of HRH The Duchess of Cambridge in August 2020. The opening of a National Warehouse will enable Baby Basics to STORE MORE and therefore GIVE MORE to vulnerable families through our network of centres.  The warehouse would be located in Sheffield where the charity began in 2009.

We are launching this campaign with a video of thanks and support from our Patron, Rev. Kate Bottley and over the coming days will highlight the work of each of our centres.

Cat added “It is an amazing achievement to be opening
our 50th centre and I am very proud of the work
of all our centres across the UK. While we hope
and pray that in the future, we have a fairer
society where there is no need for any Baby
Basics Centres, until then we are committed to
supporting as many vulnerable families as we
can.”
